| Detail: | Out of Bounds: White stakes and lines. When out of bounds is defined by a line on the ground, the line itself is out of bounds. The fence to the left of hole #1 is out of bounds. The entrance road to the left of holes #9 & 10 is out of bounds, even if the ball crosses over the road and comes to rest on another part of the golf course.
Hazards: Water hazard- Yellow stakes and lines. Lateral water hazard- Red stakes and lines.
Embedded Ball: "Through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own pitch-mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped must first strike a part of the course through the green."
Suspension of Play: Discontinue play: One prolonged note of siren. Resume Play: Two short notes of siren, repeated.
Ties: Ties will be settled by scorecard play-off using the USGA recommended method based on the total of the last nine holes, if still tied, the last six, last three, and finally hole by hole starting on the 18th hole moving backward. Then by lot.
Stones in Bunkers: “Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions” (Rule 24-1 applies).
Late to Tee: “If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is loss of the first hole to be played in match play or two strokes in stroke play. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.”
Ground Under Repair: Ground under repair is marked by enclosed white lines. Washed out areas along the sides of the cart path, material piled for removal, holes made by a greenskeeper, irrigation lines, french drains, and old tree holes are ground under repair even if not marked.
Rangefinders: A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. Devices that measure other conditions that might affect play are strictly prohibited. Penalty for breach of Rule 14-3 is disqualification.
Integral parts of the Golf Course: include retaining walls and pilings when located within a water hazard or lateral water hazard.
Pace of Play: All players will be responsible for maintaining an appropriate pace of play. All groups must keep pace with the group in front of them. Pace of play will be monitored by on course rangers. Penalties for slow play will be accessed at the sole discretion of the Tournament Committee. First offense- Warning, Second offense- Two stroke penalty in stroke play or loss of hole in match play. |
